Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ3 pm. It is closed on Sunday. High Point is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around High Point is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I'm sorry, but there's no room for another star. How am I supposed to rate better than 'Exceptional' with only 5 stars? Weird. And it only gets worse! I hate having to use the word 'love' to describe what I think about their coffee, but it's true. I mean, this isn't normal; I only think of FosterHobbs when I'm ready to buy more. How strange! The worst part is my favorite time of day is a quiet morning sipping their disgustingly delicious, freakishly fresh roasted beans, especially Chocolate from Peru --organic beans no less-- and Brazil Dark Roast. Oh! And another thing. Why do they, Mike and Pam, have to be so authentically friendly and smile all the time? Yikes! Get this too! They know me by name and are genuinely excited to hear from me. I know, right? Why? Why me? Maybe it's because they see my excitement taking a nose-full of that heavenly coffee roast aroma every time I visit the store as if it was my first time falling in love there. What can I say? I have a lousy poker-face. Besides, they have utterly failed.. to mess up my order at least once, even my preferred grind between course and drip is perfection. Well, I just hope they're happy and proud that they've made a joyfu

Wow, what an absolutely incredible experience! π The staff here is hands-down the kindest and most knowledgeable team I have ever encountered. They are total coffee wizards and can answer any question you throw at them! They truly make you feel like the most important person in the room and are so genuinely thankful for your business. Quick heads-up for first-timers: They are strictly bean experts and don't sell coffee by the cupβbut trust me, you'll want to take these beans home and brew! ββ¨

Growing up the daughter of a coffee aficionado, I learned to appreciate good coffee from a very young age; so when my dad suggested that I try FosterHobbs, I did not second guess his recommendation. He is a frequent patron of their shop and I enjoy visiting there with him when I'm in town. My go-to purchase is the Max EPR Espresso, a dark roast with bold flavor; but on my most recent visit I took a chance on the Hazelnut - it's so good! Just the right hint of flavor that perfectly complimented my breakfast, I will definitely purchase again! So if you live in High Point or are just passing through, stop by to see Mike and Pam for a friendly chat and a bag of the best coffee!

This place is absolutely amazing. If you are a coffee snob like myself you have to visit FosterHobbs Coffee. The owner, Mike, was there and he is absolutely amazing. He was very friendly and very personable. You can tell he absolutely loves his city and coffee. He was just phenomenal. Several regulars stopped in and he knew them by name. They were equally as excited and praised his coffee. They had me super excited and glad that I stopped by. He does not sell prepared coffee drinks in the shop, but did recommend local bakeries and cafes that did. BTW, Dots & Pearls was one he recommended and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! He sales coffee beans. This is a roastery, so youβre getting fresh roasted beans from some of the most notable coffee regions in the country. It is awesome. I purchased a bag of Sumatra dark roast and a big bottle of chai concentrate. My partner said the chai is delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend that you stop by and chat it up with the owner and of course purchase some high quality coffee. I definitely cannot wait to come back to High Point. Oh yeah, you can purchase the coffee online!!

I have been going on a little local coffee roaster adventure to find the perfect beans for my soon to open coffee shop, New Moon, and what an AMAZING experience my husband and I had at Foster Hobbs! Mike greeted us as if we were neighbors and spent a good 30-45min happily sharing the details of their roasting process, coffee origins, charity organization (Full The Gap- REALLY cool), and their family business. His knowledge and friendliness were unparalleled! Roasting is such an art that they have mastered. We ended up with Peru and Costa Rica to start thanks to his recommendation. Although they arenβt quite ready to brew, I have no doubt in my mind about the quality of their beans. Please go check out Foster Hobbs and learn something new about quality coffee, roasting, AND supporting local businesses!! π€βοΈπ€
